| Technical Support Analyst |
 |
Seeking a customer-focused technical support analyst to assist AEI's staff and IT team.
Primary responsibilities include resolving user technical problems in a timely manner, using the trouble ticket system to manage issue queue, using RIS to build and deploy system images on user PCs, and managing online inventory of software and hardware.
Required skills:
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, especially XP in a network domain
- Strong knowledge of PC hardware
- Working knowledge of standard PC office applications (MS Office, Adobe, etc.)
Desired skills:
- Familiarity with network technologies, DNS, etc.
- Familiarity with Apple hardware and operating systems (Macs, OS X, etc.)
- Familiarity with phone systems
This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be self-directed, energetic, and possess an innate technical curiosity. AEI will support that curiosity with opportunities for training and professional development.

| Research Assistant: Foreign Policy - Critical Threats Project (Iran) |
 |
Seeking a full-time research assistant to work with foreign policy scholars in the area of national security.
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide research, writing, and editing assistance in support of AEI’s Critical Threats Project, tasked with tracking and analyzing the primary national security challenges faced by the United States. Subject matter focuses on various aspects of Iranian politics, military, and foreign relations. Other duties include administration of the project’s website, conference organization, scheduling, and other administrative support as required.
The ideal candidate works well in a team and possesses excellent research, writing, and organizational skills. A demonstrated interest in defense policy is required; language proficiency in Farsi and experience in website administration are also desirable.

| Part-time Marketing Consultant/Publicist |
 |
The American Enterprise Institute seeks a marketing consultant/publicist on a part-time, contract basis for a new project focused on American values and capitalism.
The project will explore the moral and material nature of a market economy, emphasizing how a market economy creates wealth and both rests upon and encourages traditional moral values. The project’s publications and activities will be disseminated primarily to college students, with a particular emphasis placed on engaging evangelical Christian students in a discussion on the compatibility of morals and markets.
Job responsibilities for the position include helping AEI project management devise and implement a marketing plan for the project and its products. Tasks include, but are not limited to: devising a comprehensive marketing plan for a series of short pamphlets; assisting in the creation of a marketing plan aimed at evangelical students for AEI’s new website, American.com and its blog, Enterprise Blog; and increasing awareness of AEI and its scholars in the evangelical community.
This position requires prior experience in marketing public policy products and ideas to evangelical students. The ideal candidate would also have experience marketing books to this audience. |

| Freelance Copyeditors and Proofreaders |

Seeking freelance copyeditors, proofreaders, and indexers to assist the AEI Press, publishing arm of the American Enterprise Institute. The AEI Press publishes books and monographs on a wide range of public policy issues, including foreign policy, domestic policy, and economic studies. Strong command of Chicago style is essential. Some knowledge of specific subject areas may also be valuable. Previous professional book editing experience is required. Applicants need not reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. This is an excellent opportunity to work on interesting material written by world-class scholars. |
